A striking large-scale glazed ceramic umbrella stand or jardinière featuring an intricately pierced faux bamboo lattice design with hand-painted cobalt blue birds and bamboo motifs against a soft celadon ground. Raised flowering vines wrap each side while richly decorated blue scrollwork borders frame the top and base.

Very good vintage condition with a beautifully developed, untouched patina throughout. Age-appropriate surface wear, light scratches, oxidation, and areas of verdigris consistent with decades of use. Minor edge wear and a small dent to one lower corner, as photographed, which does not detract from the overall presentation. The interior exhibits oxidation and wear expected from prior use as a planter or umbrella stand. Structurally sound and ready to enjoy.
