Late 19th century Victorian Aesthetic Movement bamboo étagère featuring japanned lacquered shelves with hand-painted floral and bird motifs.
The bamboo frame has been fully restored and refinished, preserving its rich patina and organic character.
Flaws and wear are present to the original japanned surfaces, as shown in photos, consistent with age and history. One of the original circular metal finials is missing. A sculptural and highly decorative piece, ideal for showcasing collections or adding a touch of historical charm to an interior.
